JOB TITLE: Back of House (Steward)
REPORTS TO: Direct Supervisor
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Performs duties as assigned by management.
• Assists other staff members as needed to ensure optimum service and safety.
• Assists with loading and unloads deliveries while following all safety procedures.
• Immediate report all accident and injuries to supervisor.
• Ensures all necessary tasks completed daily.
• Scrapes food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or places them in racks or on conveyor to
dishwashing machine.
• Washes and sanitizes pots, pans, and trays.
• Sweeps and mops all floors and bathrooms.
• Washes and sanitizes worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks.
• Recycles and removes trash and garbage and places it in designated containers.
• Hoses out garbage cans.
• Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Washes and peels vegetables.
• Performs quality inspections on incoming and outgoing materials and products.
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined
inventory procedures.
• Picks, packs, and ships materials and products.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• For drivers of company vehicles: must have a valid California driver’s license in good standing
with not major violations or at fault accidents over the past 3 years.
• Availability to work an assortment of days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Continually required to walk and stand
• Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds for short distances
• Must be able to work on your feet for 8 hours or more.
• Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity
• Frequently required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl
• Continually required to talk or hear
• Occasionally required to taste or smell
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather)
• Occasionally work around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals

• While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually
loud.
• Occasionally required to work in confined areas.
Additional Information
This is a part-time post. Attendance will be required in line with the business requirements,
including at weekends, holidays and in the early mornings as well as evenings, based on rotating
scheduling.
